Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is not only saving lives on screen, she's also giving our homes life with the chic savvy decor of her 1930's Los Angeles Villa. Pompeo and husband, Chris Ivery, recently let Architectural Digest invade their home and we are so happy they did! These redesigned before and after images will get your interior decorator mojo going. But Pompeo didn't do it on her own, she had the stylish help of decorator Martyn Lawrence Bullard.
"Everything has been done before, so the question becomes, How do you take something classic and make it fresh for a new generation?" said Pompeo of her 'new' home. And the home was certainly made fresh with tons of bold colors of orange and purple for the childrens' rooms, to gold and dark finishes in the living room. The plush carpets, regal dining room and tall ceilings give this home added luxury.
"The house was scrubbed of patina over the years, so we went to great lengths to revive a sense of age and dignity," Bullard told Architectural Digest.
Pompeo has been pretty hush on her new darling baby girl who was conceived through surrogacy, but we at least get to peep inside the little one's nursery. The clan are a pretty stylish bunch both in and out of the home.
Whether you're buying a new comforter or redoing your kitchen (as Pompeo did), we're sure you'll get a dose of decor inspiration.
